Statutory requirement

Every company incorporated in Hong Kong must have a Hong Kong registered address; this is a requirement of the Companies Ordinance (Cap. 622). Statutory documents from the Companies Registry and the Inland Revenue Department are served at that address. The Annual Return (Form NAR1) must be filed within 42 days of the anniversary of incorporation, the on-time registration fee is $105, and the late registration fee rises with the delay to $3,480 (source: Companies Registry). Where the letters are not dealt with in time, the deadline still runs, and the company remains responsible for filing late.
