Milk Factory Licence

Licensed company service provider · TC008771
A restaurant kitchen with licence papers

A business on premises that processes milk, makes reconstituted milk or milk drinks, or bottles milk must hold a milk factory licence. Those applying for this licence on its own are usually dairy processing plants.

A restaurant holding a restaurant licence that only provides processed milk, reconstituted milk or milk drinks in the restaurant does not need a separate milk factory licence.

Milk factory licence FAQ

How do I apply to resell dairy products in my shop?
Add a milk factory endorsement to your restaurant licence; the restaurant licences that qualify are the general restaurant, light refreshment restaurant, food factory and factory canteen licences. Once approved, processed milk or milk drinks can be served to customers in the restaurant.
Is it the same for serving bottled milk to customers?
Selling bottled fresh milk or chocolate milk for drinking on the premises needs the "milk and milk beverages" endorsement, and proof of the source of supply must be given to FEHD.
What counts as running a milk factory business?
Selling, processing or reconstituting any milk or milk drink is running a milk factory business, which needs this licence or an endorsement on the restaurant licence.
